Dishes, glasses, baking sheets... OH MY!

Tyler is such a good sport, before he left for Orlando I got him to help me REGISTER. Yes, the huge task of registering. It was fun, and exciting. He was so funny about the toaster and it being able to last. I had him go with me to Dillards, Target and Bed Bath and Beyond.... HE DID IT! I LOVE THAT MAN!

Here are our favs:

***This is my favorite! So cute, it is a pot holder! I LOVE IT!

Our shower curtain is so CUTE!!!!

I am so EXCITED!!! Tyler booked our HONEYMOON yesterday, and I can't wait! We are going to Playa Mujeres which is 20 minutes north of Cancun. The resort is an Excellence Club and is absolutely beautiful. Tyler told me that he really wanted to swim with the dolphins so be added that to our trip. Our room is two stories with a hot tub on the roof facing the ocean.......BEAUTIFUL! 6 nights 7 days with nothing but relaxation..CAN'T WAIT!

CAKE, CAKE, CAKE!

Sorry I have not blogged in awhile, but I have been very busy with work and traveling. I am currently in Bloomington IL in the freezing cold weather, and I can't stop thinking about our cakes.

CAKES, CAKES, CAKES.........So, I scheduled a cake tasting with two different companies for Saturday afternoon, and Monday evening. Saturday is with a very local new business that is called Torte Bella, and Monday evening is with a very well known company in Austin called Matty Cakes. I hear that they have the most beautiful cakes.

Flavors: I am REQUESTING Lemon cake with Raspberry filling. My mouth is watering!!! Tyler LOVES Red velvet cake so that will be a flavor also. The other that we are thinking about is PINK CHAMPAGNE! Does that now sound AMAZING?!

Design: Our wedding has the Peacock Feather theme so I have been talking with some friends to come up with an idea........ this is super hard, but I think I have made up my mind. There are still a few details that I can't decide on, but I will talk with the cake "designer" about that when we visit. So, this is what I am thinking. I want a 3 tier cake with the top and bottom layer having Peacock Feathers piped on it. The middle layer I want to have our Monogram on it "TJT"!!! LOVE IT! In between each tier I want there to be flowers, and on the top there will be real Peacock Feathers coming out of the top!!! Here is a picture of what style cake I love!

TYLER'S CAKE! Now, this is going to be the really fun part. Tyler LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to fish, so I compromised and asked him to have a cake of his favorite lure instead of a fish. He told me that his favorite fishing lure is a "SCUM FROG" hahaha. It is going to look amazing. So.... I leave you with this!

The Future MRS. Meeks!

I was really busy toward the end of the week, traveling to Dallas Thursday and Friday and then I headed to Lubbock for one of the best suprises ever. One of my very best friends and bridesmaid in the wedding, Katie, got engaged to one of our very best friends Kevin. It was so AWESOME! I got into Lubbock Friday evening, and one of my other very best friends drove in from Amarillo. She had no clue that anyone was coming to town. Kevin arranged for everyone to be there for the big event. Her parents drove up from San Antonio and were able to witness such a spactular, freeze frame time moment! It was so much fun hidding the big secret from her. On Saturday morning, Kevin woke up early because he was nervous so Katee and I went to meet him for breakfast just down the street from Katie's house. Overall, she had no clue, and Kevin pulled off the biggest suprise of her life.

CONGRATULATIONS you guys we love ya'll!!!!

I got a STEAL!

Today I went by the rental place on my lunch break to make the final decisions on my table cloths and get a final quote for the cost of them along with the tables, chairs, dance floor, and tents. When I went in a couple of weeks ago the, very very helpful, lady put together a quote for me with everything that I am going to need for the wedding. I was so excited to see that it was less than the first quote that I got. They are having a 50% off sale on the linens until February 14th if I pay for them by then. It saved a lot of money so I went by to day to get the final price so that I could tell my lovely father how much money I was going to need him to fund for these precious possessions. I ended up picking a very pretty royal/purple blue like color and a teal/blue color for the table cloths. The final price for 47 tables was $450! I was so excited I couldn't help my self. AND.... because I am booking a preferred vendor for he catering I get an extra 10% off my whole bill. The total for the tents, dance floor, tables, chairs, linens, lighting, bar, etc is about $5,600! WHAT A STEAL!

If you ever need rentals I would totally recommend them: AUSTIN PARTY CENTRAL

Say Cheese!

So, Tyler and I feel that photography is the most important part of this very special day that we are planning so we thought long and hard, did lots of research, and finally picked the photographer we are going to use. She is amazing, and we are luck to have seen some of her work already as she did my best friend Chyla's wedding in April. She is out of Dallas, but will be make the trip to the Hill Country for our "EVENT". Check her out she is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I hope that everyone wears their biggest smiles ever and have the time of their life on October 24th.

"How many?!"..."OH, yes you heard me 13"

Tyler and I have 13 attendants a piece. This was really hard as we both have a lot of really close friends. I just figure, you are important to stand next to me, and I love each and everyone of them so they all have their important job of being in the wedding. No one is more important than the other.

Wedding bells are ringing!

Hello! My name is Terra and I am getting married on October 24th, 2009 to the most amazing man on the face of the planet Tyler Martin James. I am truly blessed to have had him in my life and to get to spend the rest of my life with him. I am a little late starting my blog as I have already done some wedding planning, but I am going to catch you up.
First I want to fill you in on Tyler and I. We met at Texas A&M University while going to school. The first time we saw each other we were both dating other people, but I thought he was REALLY good looking. A few months after we met he broke up with his girlfriend at the time, and I was have relationship problems myself. It wasn't to much longer when I ended my relationship. Tyler jokes now and says that he heard from a friends, friends, brother's best friend that I was having relationship problems and was on it like white on rice (he is a jokester!). It wasn't to much longer that we started and hit it off! We had so much fun together and he made me laugh really hard. I knew from day one that he was the man I was going to marry and spend the rest of my life with. Time went by and I graduated from A&M, moved back to Austin and started working. Tyler just graduated in December which was a year after I did and it was the best day of not only his life, but of mine!
THE PROPOSAL
Tyler and I had talked about my "dream" proposal a long time a go and all I told him was that I wanted it to be the biggest surprise of my life and that it was really important that all of our friends and family were there. SO..... what did he do? Tyler had worked in Orlando Florida all summer and we knew that he was going to go back when he graduated. He kept telling me that he was "sorry" that he couldn't ask me to marry him as soon as we both had wanted but it was going to have to wait until a few months after he graduated. I continued to tell him that I didn't want to talk about it, and that I just wanted it to be a surprise and I wasn't going anywhere. The night before he graduated he tossed and turned and did not sleep a wink!!! I thought I was going to kill him. That next morning I asked him, "what is wrong with you? Are you ok?" He assured me that he was just nervous about graduating from college. I responded with the best remark ever, " your just graduating..." oops. We went to his commencement ceremony and then to his luncheon. I didn't pay much attention to him as are friends and family were around so we were both mingling and talking. After everyone was finished eating Tyler got up on stage and with a shaky hand (which I didn't even notice) he asked if I would come up on stage with him and dance with him. He is a romantic so I didn't think anything about it. We danced to Stoney LaRue's Crystal Eyes and he was so nervous. I once again asked him, "why are you so nervous?" and he stated, " I am just nervous I am going to trip in front of everyone." I started laughing and told him that he wasn't going to trip. He then CONTINUED to tell me that he was sorry that he couldn't ask me because he had to wait until after he graduated. I told him not to talk about it, and just dance. When the song was over he asked if I could spin twice and I did. When I came back around, he was on one knee. I looked at him with a grimace on my face and said " WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" This was not really a question because I knew he wasn't going to ask me. He looked at me with a smirk on his face, because he knew I was totally surprised and had no clue what he was doing. He then pulled out the ring box and after I started crying and called him TURKEY he asked me to Marry him! Of course I said Yes!
